Title Agreement on the use of a commonly agreed mark of conformity for luminaires and relevant components complying with European Standards.
Type European Certification Scheme.
Basic document; Permanent Document ENEC 301, first established April 1993, latest amendment April 2001.
Scope of products Luminaires and associated components, security transformers, power supply units, IT equipment, switching devices, capacitors and filters.
Purpose To grant a common European mark on the basis of applicable European standards. To strive for elimination of existing special national conditions and national deviations, valid in the countries of the ENEC Signatories.
Management body ENEC Group, composed of representatives of all signatories.
Advisory body ENEC Advisory Committee, composed of the signatories and of representatives of interested manufacturers' associations or groups, consumers and standardisers.
Signatories 23 Certification Bodies in 21 European countries.
Admission of new signatories Applicants must comply with the requirements defined in the relevant ENEC Permanent Document.
Legal protection The ENEC Mark is registered by the signatories in their own country.
